Sharyn started singing at the age of 11 in local school and church choirs where she often performed solos and took principal roles in Gilbert and Sullivan productions. At 16 she achieved grade 8 singing with Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. 

From school Sharyn attended the Welsh College of Music and Drama where she was classically trained under Mabel Christopher. In this period she achieved diplomas in singing teaching from the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) and the Royal College of Music. (ARCM). This was followed by a year at Bretton Hall College where she successfully completed qualifications in Music Teaching. Sharyn taught music in a comprehensive school for ten years tutoring choirs and coaching on the Mid Glamorgan Choral courses for several years.

Moving to Stratford-upon-Avon, Sharyn continued with her singing lessons and began solo work in choirs and in productions that included Carmen, Mozart’s Requiem, Don Giovanni. Sharyn was also the winner of the Vocal Final of the Cheltenham Music festival. She has also regularly sung at weddings, concerts, funerals and other events.

Sharyn is keen to enthuse all singers. She has recently tutored young singers with an interest in musical theatre and is the Musical Director for a local Opera group where the repertoire includes sacred, operatic and pop and musical theatre styles. As a member of the Association of Teachers of Singing, Sharyn has been mentored by extremely experienced singing teachers from across the country and has been trained in the most up to date techniques in vocal tuition and coaching.
